Rev Raymond Yap - Answering the Divine Call
Rev Raymond Yap’s life was forever changed in 1984 when he encountered the grace of God. Once lost and without direction, he found new purpose through Christ and began a journey marked by hope and calling.
His early ministry experience includes serving at The Word Centre Church from 1992 to 1996, followed by co-pastoring at Full Gospel Fellowship from 1997 to 2002. In 2003, Rev Raymond responded to God’s call to plant Life Harvest Assembly (LHA). He later obtained a Degree in Practical Theology from Advantage College, USA in 2010, further equipping him for ministry.
In 1992, led by a strong sense of compassion and divine guidance, he founded New Creation Home, a Drug Rehabilitation Centre. For over 10 years, he dedicated himself to helping drug addicts find healing and freedom through faith in Jesus Christ.
Since 2016, God has opened doors for Rev Raymond to minister internationally, especially in Bangladesh and the Philippines. These missions have allowed LHA to become a blessing beyond its local community, spreading the message of God’s love across borders.
Rev Raymond’s heart remains focused on reaching people from all walks of life, sharing the gospel, and helping believers grow in their faith. His message to the church is simple but powerful—keep pressing on, stay faithful to God’s calling, and continue reaching those in need.
His life motto comes from 2 Corinthians 5:15 (NKJV):
“And He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.”
This verse reflects the way he lives his life and leads the church—with passion, purpose, and an unwavering love for God and people.
Rev Daphne - Nurturing Discipleship in a Bilingual Community
Rev Daphne has played a vital role in shaping the leadership of Life Harvest Assembly (LHA), especially in guiding the church through the transition into a bilingual and now trilingual community. Originally a Chinese speaking congregation, LHA adapted to include English and Cantonese to better serve its diverse members. This important step helped make the church more welcoming and accessible, and Rev Daphne was instrumental in leading this journey.
Her walk with God began in 1987 when she encountered Christ and committed her life to Him. She later joined the church led by Rev Raymond and Rev May, and serving faithfully alongside them in ministry.
Helping the church grow into a multilingual community came with challenges, especially in translating worship songs, sermon materials, and weekly bulletins. Despite these difficulties, Rev Daphne remained focused on ensuring that everyone could worship and learn together, regardless of language, always promoting a spirit of unity and love.
One of the key challenges Rev Daphne continues to face is in discipleship. She observes that some believers struggle to mature in their faith due to a lack of prayer life, resistance to change among older members, and a loss of spiritual hunger during seasons of comfort or success.
Rev Daphne encourages all believers to stay alert in prayer and sensitive to what God is doing in the world. To the younger generation, she highlights 1 Timothy 4:12, urging them to be examples in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. Her heart remains passionate about spiritual growth, transformation, and helping people walk closely with Jesus every day.

Pastor Daphne - Nurturing Discipleship in a Bilingual Community
Pastor Daphne, a pivotal figure in the leadership of Life Harvest Assembly Church, provides insight into the challenges and triumphs of building a bilingual community. The church, initially Chinese-speaking, transitioned to a bilingual approach, reflecting the diversity of its congregation. Pastor Daphne’s journey into Christianity started in 1987, later joining the church led by Pastor Raymond and Pastor May. She married Pastor Raymond and serve along with him and Pastor May in the ministry.
Navigating the bilingual landscape posed challenges, particularly in translating materials like bulletins and songs. This journey laid the groundwork for her commitment to the church’s bilingual transition, emphasizing the importance of effective communication and inclusivity.
The struggle for Pastor Daphne lies in discipleship, as some members find it challenging to mature in their faith. The obstacles include a lack of persistence in prayer, resistance to change among older generations, and a decline in passion for Christ, especially during periods of prosperity.
Pastor Daphne’s advice for current members emphasizes vigilance, prayer, and responsiveness to global events. For the younger generation, she encourages them to embody an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, drawing from First Timothy 4:12. The challenges in discipleship, according to her, stem from a loss of passion and an unwillingness to change, underscoring the importance of continuous spiritual growth.

Rev May - A Journey of Faith and Ministry
Rev May Kow came to know the Lord in 1985, during a time of deep personal brokenness. She gave her heart to Jesus, and through His love, she experienced healing, joy, and peace. This powerful encounter sparked a deep hunger for God and His Word, leading her to respond to His call into ministry in 1989. She has served faithfully ever since.
Working with Rev Raymond has been a great blessing to her, offering many opportunities to grow and serve. Rev May has a strong heart for children and teaching. She completed a four-year course in FGA, focusing on Children’s Ministry, which shaped her deep passion to nurture young lives in God’s truth.
In 2008, she felt led by God to start the Myanmar Refugee Learning Centre, offering education and hope to refugee children. This initiative, along with the Myanmar Mission Church, reflects her compassion for the marginalized and her desire to make a difference in their lives through Christ’s love.
Rev May continues to serve with dedication despite the challenges, including finding committed workers and helpers. Her strength comes from her sense of calling and wholehearted service to God.
Her encouragement to church members is to stay close to God and always give thanks, as written in 1 Thessalonians 5:18. To the younger generation, she offers this reminder from Acts 9:15 – that they are God’s chosen instruments, called to reach out and bring the light of Christ to those who have yet to know Him.
